Introduction to Lusoga Grammar
Lusoga is a Bantu language with a rich grammatical structure. Like other Bantu languages, it uses a system of noun classes and corresponding agreements.
Basic Sentence Structure
Lusoga generally follows a Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) word order:
- Subject: The person or thing doing the action
- Verb: The action
- Object: The person or thing receiving the action
Example:
Omwana alya emmere
- (The child eats food)
Noun Classes
Lusoga nouns are grouped into different classes, which affect:
- Prefixes on nouns
- Agreement with adjectives
- Agreement with verbs
